I love it when I can shoot with just available light! My friend and mentor, John H. White, always reminded the photojournalism class I was in to watch for the light. It amazes me how much you can get away with by just watching the light and interacting with it.....

Burrito Time

Cruised up to LA the other day to hang out with Chicago homie Billy Teichen over at HUF. Burritos, skateboards, art, and a bit of rock and roll from Hanni El Khatib to end the day! All in all a good one! Thanks Bill!

Midwest LA

First week in Cali and I'm already running into plenty of familiar faces. I met up with Timmy and Mike at Belmont high school which I had always seen in skate vids' growing up! I always knew of Timmy while living in Chicago but never had the opportunity to go skate with him outside of the skatepark, well Timmy rips as well as Mike, and although I've never been a huge fan of shooting sequences, with Timmy and Mike I had no problem with it!Timmy hanging five

lessons learned

I've been told that once you leave you can never return. Growing up moving every few years I never really understood this. Being back in the Pacific Northwest, an area I hadn't been through in nine years, places I once thought seemed normal seem strange, and the foreign ones feel a lot like a place I had grown up in. I guess I've had sometime to think about this while on the road, the best motion is forward motion! Here are some images from the road, some from places from my past, others completely new!
